Adolescent Perpetrator Gets Life Behind Bars Term with Base 16-Year-Long Duration
A fifteen-year-old boy has been sentenced to life behind bars with a base term of 16 years for the killing of another pupil Harvey Willgoose during a lunch break.

Mohammed Umar Khan knifed Harvey, who was also 15 years old, through the chest with a weapon at Sheffield's learning facility in the second month.
The presiding justice revoked the name suppression order on the killer during the punishment phase at the courthouse.
Family Statement
Harvey's mother expressed she felt "as if a heavy weight has been removed off my back" following the verdict.
The pair of adolescents had earlier quarreled over digital networks in the period leading up to the deadly event.
The mother stated she was relieved the minimum term had been set above the required minimum of fifteen years.

Throughout the trial, the defendant stated he had not planned to cause death to the deceased or cause him serious harm, claiming he could not recollect what had transpired.
The prosecution maintained that he had "desired to prove he was tough" and "was aware exactly what he was carrying out".
"You acted as the instigator and... you behaved in hurt and rage at what you considered to be his betrayal of your bond," stated the justice during the judgment.

The educational institution issued a message conveying that the pupil was "deeply missed every daytime by the whole school community".
Investigators stressed the tragic outcomes of possessing knives, noting that a "split-second choice" can forever transform various futures.
